Coming Soon! – No More Bad Hair Days

It’s official. The day before yesterday, I started noticing that the hair on my legs hasn’t grown back after shaving. The hair on my head’s started feeling “crunchy.” I expect that after tomorrow’s chemo I will start finding the stubble that’s left on my pillow.

I’m still finding it a little hard to wrap my head around the fact that it only takes me about 10 minutes to shower and get ready to go out now. I used to spend about 30 minutes on my hair and makeup. When I’m not leaving the house, I don’t bother with makeup, and sometimes not even when I am. The great thing is that my wig is awesome and makes me look like me again when I need that for myself.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m totally enjoying the variety of hats I’ve picked up in the last month or so – the Christmas trees, Santa’s belt and my new favorite, the Mickey Mouse ears I got from my cousin and his wife.

Here’s to a few months of not having to shave and not wasting money on hair products! Woohoo!

Now your morning routine is exactly what mine has been for the last eleven years. 🙂 I just saw a documentary about a woman who got diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer and was only given about 2-3 months to live. She wanted to make it to her 40th birthday which was more like 6 months away. Rowan was her name. She filmed her life as she tried to figure out what to do with the time she had left. She interviewed others in the same situation. It was a very good film and I thought of you and what you must be going through now. My suppot and thoughts go your way as you go through this journey against cancer.
