Blinded by SCIENCE!

When I spoke to the surgeon late last week as a follow up to the CT scan of my chest, she told me that the nodules that were identified in the previous scan were still there, but the thinking on them is that they were enlarged because I was sick at the time. Continue reading

Week 2 Without Taxol

This week, my fingertips are less numb. I can feel its still there, but it’s less and going away. My hands still burn if I clench them or wring them together – like when I’m drying them after washing. My feet are also less numb. I can feel my toes again, and I have more of a tingly feeling in the bottoms of my feet where they were numb before. Continue reading

How’s That Chemo Brain Workin’ For Ya?

The doctors will say to try doing puzzles. I started doing crosswords while I was still on AC chemo. I finished the puzzle the same as if I didn’t have chemo brain. I sometimes do the New York Times crossword (print edition, not online), but mostly I do the one in The Globe. Yes, the tabloid Globe you find at the grocery store. No, I don’t read the other gossip. I go directly to the puzzle and work through it. Like I said, though, this didn’t seem to be any more of a challenge than it was before I started chemo and started noticing chemo brain.
